You see different best seller lists, and books you have heard raving reviews for, yet you can’t bring yourself to read them due to one reason or another? Yep, this post if for you. There are definitely some popular books that I haven’t read, nor will I ever in some cases. Or even books that have been sitting in my TBR for literally years and something else always comes up for me to read before, but I can’t get myself to remove it from my list? Anyone else go through this dilemma or is it just me?
Let’s talk about popular books I haven’t read yet:

I am sorry, but this is one of the series that I have absolutely NO desire to read. 50 Shades of Gray was widely successful in both book and movie form and I have definitely read a few romance books in my day, but I can never see myself reading this series. From what I have heard, my inner feminist would be fuming the whole series and I’d rather just avoid it altogether.

I want to read Game of Thrones, I really, really do, but it is just to daunting. I loved the TV series, you know before Season 7 & 8 fucked everything up, but I can’t bring myself to even crack open these books. Any books that have to have a glossary in the back for characters involves way to much brain power for me. Someone please give me a push in these books direction, thank you.

Did I go to the only high school that didn’t require Pride and Prejudice to be read? This is an absolute literary classic, and I, again, have no desire to read it. It is supposedly the ultimate love story, but I think Mr. Darcy would just piss me off. Am I really missing out? Should I put my prejudices aside (see what I did there ;)) and give this book a chance? Someone let me know their thoughts!

I am terrified to read Midnight Sun of the Twilight series. I was a hardcore twi-hard when I was 12 and I am afraid if I even reread the Twilight books I will hate it. I have very fond memories of these books despite the sub-par cringy movies, I would hate for them to be tainted by my adult mind and opinion of these books. To hold onto the magic, I will not read this book, despite my curiosity to read all about Edward’s POV.
Anyone else have any extremely popular books that you just know you will probably never read? Am I being to harsh on these books or is my reasoning justified? Who knows? Maybe I would read the book and absolutely love it, but for now, they remain Schrodinger’s cat. Thanks for reading, stay tuned for more book and travel related material.
I think I have read a lot of the popular ones but one I won’t read is 50 shades of grey, haha. It is not for me!

haha yes! I can’t agree enough! Even when it was in it’s prime hype, it still wasn’t on my radar.

Remember when the manuscript got leaked while she was writing it? Well I read the first bit that was leaked then, but ya, I think I just want it to live in memory haha

I haven’t read any of these either, lol π. I don’t wanna read 50 Shades and neither Midnight Sun and yeah, the length of Game of Thrones is just way too intimidating….great post π

I have not read any of these so high five! I did try Pride and Prejudice but got stuck at the first few chapters, partially because the old English threw me off a bit. Am planning to get back to it someday!

Oh was it hard to understand or just a bit different? I am a lazy reader π even though I read a lot, I don’t want to have to work really hard to understand the book, if that makes sense?

Haha it does! I have kind of the same mindset where reading is a relaxation and I want it to be effortless as possible. βΊοΈ
